The National Georgian Ballet was founded in 1945 by Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili, who are a couple not only onstage, but also in real life. It was the first official national dance group in Georgia. The company has had successful appearances on nearly all of the world’s stages, including the Sydney Opera House, London’s Royal Albert Hall and Manhattan’s Metropolitan Opera. It is the only folk company that achieved record success at the most famous and demanding of venues, Milan’s La Scala, where the audience cheered them back onstage 14 times after one appearance.
Virtuosos is a unique talent show and talent management program that has been operating with unbroken success for ten years. It is now an internationally recognized television program that discovers and supports young classical musicians. Part of this mission is to provide opportunities for young people to perform in the most important concert halls. On this occasion, mentors and jury members from the Virtuosos will be on stage together with the young musicians.
